My name is unimportant. If you already know me then good for you and if not, then that's ok too. What is important is to know that i that I find great aesthetic joy in listening to music by means of vinyl records on a turntable. Before you get any misconceptions about me or this blog i should make the following disclaimers:
1. I am not a professional writer, so any well written passages will have occurred purely by accident.
2. I am not an Audiophile. My record player is a JVC AL-A158 (This number means nothing to me) that i inherited from my grandpa, and the needle is whatever he chose to put on it.
3. I am not trying to be a music critic. I just plan on typing about what is spinning on my turntable at the given moment.
Phew, now that that's out of the way, on to what this little blog WILL be about. I have over the past few years acquired a great (GREAT) many number of vinyl records, thanks to friends, family, record stores, school music libraries, and bargain bins everywhere. With a little luck and a lot of perusing I have managed to find a LOT of great music that casual listeners of today may have overlooked.
My goal is to introduce anyone who cares to read this blog to albums that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. For Example i have many "Beatles" arrangement records, Classic Rock bands you probably have never heard of, a Star Wars Funk album, countless classical albums, and some just plain strange ones. My plan is to put on a record, and by the time the last track finishes i will be done with the post on that album. I possess all of this music and in case you are interested in listening but unable to find it by any modern medium, contact me and we can fire up the turntable and you can hear it from the source!
Will you be enlightened? Maybe... Entertained? Hopefully at least a little bit. Either way thanks for reading!
